So here I am, sitting on my beloved Ikea chair, surrounded by rain, green forests, and water; i.e. the Pacific Northwest; more specifically, close to Seattle, Washington. I recently packed up and moved (well, paid movers to drive) all of my various paraphernalia from New York City. After this coast to coast traveling adventure, I will now officially call myself a Seattleite, (if that even is a word).
This was quite an unexpected adventure, to say the least. However, I know life throws it's unexpected twists and turns here and there, and luckily, I'm finding more and more that this is a wonderful surprise. So far, I don't hate the rain, I love the city, and I find it less frantic than NYC. Yes it's cliché, but one of my favorite quotes comes from one of my all time favorite movies, 'The Sound of Music.'
"When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window."
I feel like I've had a lot of doors slammed in my face the last few years, but have come to find more and more that each corresponding window is there, even if covered by tightly wound curtains.
So here I am, starting a new exciting life for myself. I am changing my perspective in a lot of ways. I am also changing certain habits, and certain daily activities that have taken priority in my life for many years, due to various reasons which I will let you all ponder for now. In the mean time, I'm working on healing (both in body and mind), soul searching, and continuing to find happiness and fulfillment in my life, especially through music, art, fun and friends.
So more later. Welcome to my synesthetic musings.
